An eclectic musician, Stéphane Gassot has been composing since his youth for a wide variety of ensembles, from solo piano to large orchestra, and has a keen interest in computer music (programming). His activities as a composer and arranger, numerous and heterogeneous, lead him to collaborate with performers of the musical scene as well as with actors of the audiovisual industry.

Born in Niort, he joined Paris after his baccalaureate to study in different institutions where he obtained prizes in writing, piano, chamber music, organ and solfeggio. He then joined the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris in the cycles of Writing, Orchestration and Composition of music for the image. He obtained a MASTER degree in writing (harmony, counterpoint, fugue & forms), a prize in orchestration as well as a Superior Diploma in composition of music for the screen. At the same time, he wrote "Une approche de la fiction musicale" (An approach to musical fiction), a personal work of study that questions the equivocal status of fictional music when it is the work of a composer-character. It is in the context of his film music activities that he received a grant from the Mécénat Musical Société Générale.
Among his recent projects, an "Elegy" for solo violin will be premiered by Thomas Lefort during the next edition of the Festival des Forêts de Compiègne. In addition, last winter, the musical tale "Christmas in the Valley of the Moomins", commissioned by the Orchestre Régional de Normandie, was performed on tour.
