The rondo of the Rondos Octuor with piano 33 p + 24p PS

The Rondo des Rondos : https://youtu.be/ICMQHWuFOr4

This octet is the result of a pedagogical project carried out with 2nd cycle students over the course of a school year, during which the instrumentalists were closely involved in the composition of a musical work. Each moment of its elaboration was indeed the occasion of a collective reflection on the form, the harmony, the instrumentation, the technical constraints... so many subjects made concrete by the instrumental work going step by step according to the concerted composition of this piece.

From the beginnings of the creative process to the public performance of the piece, this work was an opportunity to closely combine theory and practice, to underline and better understand the indispensable association. Determined by the pedagogical context, the writing is voluntarily within a strict tonal framework.

The formation, which brings together strings, woodwinds and brass around a piano, can be an introduction to the practice of the symphony orchestra. The proposed line-up can however be widely modified according to the possibilities, each solution being likely to bring a particular color, a particular balance and a new interest. We therefore propose in the introduction some examples of alternative instrumentation (formations with string quartet, string octet, wind quintet...). Each part can be doubled in order to expand the ensemble (in this case, care should be taken to allow for soloist interventions).

Évaëlle, Caroline, Mirana, Julia, Félix, Jeyone, Aurélie and Judith created this work on June 22, 2016. May they all be thanked for their work in creating the Rondo des Rondos. We invite you to share the fruit of this beautiful musical experience conducted with enthusiasm.
