Bruno Rossignol was born in 1958 in Nanterre, France. From 1985 to 1995, he was the choirmaster of Jean-Michel Jarre's musical shows, which he accompanied in London, Paris-La Défense (1990), Berlin, Budapest, Seville, Barcelona, St-Jacques-de-Compostelle, Mont-St-Michel... He was director of the conservatories of Jouy-en-Josas (1989-1992), Suresnes (1992-1997), Orsay (1997-2000), Bourges (2000-2005), and Paris 10th Hector Berlioz (2005-2010). He is director of the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Départemental (CRD) of the Dordogne since 2011.
His catalog includes: an opera: Madame Roland a Concerto for violin, premiered in 2000 by Annie Jodry, a Concerto for harp, premiered in 2008 by Sabine Chefson, numerous choral works, Stabat Mater, Salve Regina, Ave Verum, Exsurgens autem Maria (premiered in May 2014 as part of the 900th Anniversary Celebrations of Pontigny Abbey), a cantata: L'Escalier, melodies: Les Nouvelles Histoires Naturelles, on texts by Jules Renard, several collections of piano pieces. His oratorio La fin du monde, written in Occitan Limousin on a text by Jean-Yves Agard, was premiered on April 26 and 27, 2013 respectively in Sarlat and Boulazac (Périgueux). He has written a large number of instrumental pieces for educational purposes, published by the main French publishers: Leduc, Lemoine, Billaudot, Combre, Salabert, Delatour, Armiane, Delrieu... He has also transcribed for piano four hands great works of the repertoire (Pictures at an Exhibition by Mussorgsky, Prelude to the afternoon of a faun by Debussy).
Since 2011, he is the artistic director of the instrumental ensemble of the Dordogne (E.I.D.) with which he performs mainly in the Aquitaine region. At the same time, he created the Choeur de Dordogne. As a choral conductor, he won the first prize at the Malta International Competition in 1989, the first prize at the Verona International Competition (Italy) in 1993, the prize for best conductor at the Verona Festival in 1993, and the Grand Prix des Hauts de Seine in 1996.
